With something to offer everyone, Forest Park, St. Louis is a one stop shop for a fun filled day that can include the entire family. Choose from sports activities to museums and exhibits or simply relax in green surrounding. Forest Park is free to access and close to the city center.


With activities from boating to golfing, wildlife areas, a tree top walk, hayrides, and ice skating, finding something at Forest Park, St. Louis to suit every member of your group, young or old, shouldn’t be a problem. This huge park, close to the centre of St. Louis is packed with activities and acts as a meeting place for locals as well as a top notch attraction for visiting families.

On the Water

Forest Park, St. Louis has a boating lake where families can rent pedalos (paddle boats) and rowboats by the hour or for a longer period. The Jewel Box, a delightful greenhouse packed with flowers, backs onto a lily pad pond. And the fountains at the Grand Basin catch the last rays of light in the romantic evening light; a favorite spot amongst couples at Forest Park St. Louis.

Fun & Games

The whole park is well laid out for outdoor games and picnicking. Activities provided by forest park include the Dwight Davis Tennis Centre, a golf course, bike rental, and park tours.  There is plenty of space to organize your own games or just to laze around on the grass. Anyone visiting Forest Park, St. Louis during autumn can take part in a hay ride on the back of a truck through the park.

Festivals and Events

Forest Park, St. Louis is host to whole range of festivals and events throughout the year. Summer concerts are held on a weekly basis throughout June, July and August, attracting thousands of visitors at a time. Other events at Forest Park include the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, and the annual hot air balloon race.

Eating and Drinking

If you don’t want to carry a picnic, there is a restaurant available at The Muny Theater. Other options include snack bars, ice cream kiosks and cafes scattered around the park.

Visitor Information

Forest Park, St. Louis is within easy access of the city centre. Metrolink stations are close to the park – use Forest Park or Skinker station for the closest access. Admission to the park is free but activities and access to certain building to carry a charge. Ticket prices are available locally.
